How to obtain a CILS certificate for knowledge of Italian

CILS ekzamen po-italianskomu

Everyone who has moved to Italy or is going to live here will sooner or later face the question of how to get an Italian language certificate, what it is and where it surrenders.

I would like to warn you that many schools and courses in Italy, including public ones, issue certificates at the end of the Italian language course. However, I would like to point out that only the CILS exam is recognized as a real certificate, which corresponds to the European-wide system of knowledge assessment.

In addition, many Italian organizations require a CILS certificate when applying for a job. Of course, the presence of such a certificate, which will clearly define your knowledge of writing and speaking, will be a plus for you only. If you want to study at a higher education institution, you will not have to take an additional language test if you have a B2 certificate.
I want to share my experience of writing an exam that is essential if you are planning to build your life in this country, to find a job or to study at a university.

So, the certificate in question is called CILS-Certificazione di Italiano come Lingua Straniera. It is an international certificate confirming the level of knowledge of the language in accordance with the classification of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Six levels of the CILS exam:

There are six exam levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2. To extend your residence permit, you only need to have an A2 level to enter B2 University. In addition, a previous level certificate is not required for the CILS exam (i.e. a B2 level certificate does not require a B1 level certificate, etc.).

The examination takes place only twice a year: in June and December. You have to sign up in advance, so you don’t have to miss a certain time to sign up for the exam.

The exam lasts about 4 hours and includes the following steps
